Concept of the Work

Beginning of the creative process of a 100x70 cm charcoal artwork by an emerging artist.

When I drew the first charcoal line on the canvas, the feeling that overwhelmed me was a mixture of loneliness and nostalgia. It was very important for me to allow myself to feel the emotions with which I would begin this new work.
Throughout my life, I have often walked alone, but that solitude was never a void, rather a space where pride and personal growth became my most faithful companions.
Faced with that blank canvas, I had the freedom to choose any element to express myself. To choose the right one, my first intention was to express a transformation of my initial feelings.
Dance, a fleeting rhythm. I chose tango, not only because of its roots in my Argentine homeland, but because its very essence is steeped in passion, nostalgia, and longing. It’s a dance that represents both what is said and what is left unsaid, where every movement is a testament to how brief yet intense life can be.
The couple in this scene connects in an eternal instant through their gazes. A silent exchange that says more than any words could express.
The woman, with a firmness that only experience can bring, chooses to surrender to that connection, holding and being held in an embrace that transcends the physical. She chooses to share this brief piece, knowing she could walk alone, but instead decides to reveal her legs in a sensual pose, exposed to the gaze of all, in a public scene that celebrates her empowerment.

Conclusion

In “Art in a Rhythm”, I have captured the strength and clarity of a woman who, even though she could choose solitude, opts for companionship. This work is a testament to the conscious choice, to the decision to share the path, not out of necessity, but out of desire. And it is in that choice where the true transmutation of emotions lies: what began as loneliness becomes a declaration of power, of shared passion. The emotion I wish to expand through this piece is that of conscious connection, where every gaze, every movement, is an affirmation of life in its most intense and shared form.
